unHappy [late] Valentines!
I hate Valtines! If you've spent EVERY SINGLE Valentines alone [just like me] you'd also hate this day
.
To celebrate this occasion in my own "un-valentine'ish" way I drew two couples in love.
Unhappy, tragic, unfulfilled love! D:<
The first two characters are my OCs - Nathan & Genevieve. They're twins and they're in love with each other (note that it's not that kind of love like between siblings
)... Yeah, you get the point XD. They're doomed from the very beginning! Yeah... very sad... I know. And I don't give a $H|T if you hate incest! I don't support it myself, but I kinda like it in fiction
. Mostly because it's so tragic and there's no chance for a happy ending *so sad*.
The second couple are Salmacis and Hermaphroditus. According to the Greek mythology, Salmacis was madly in love with Hermaphroditus but the beautiful god didn't love her back. She tried hard to win his heart, but with no results. So one day she begged the gods to become one with Hermaphroditus. The gods listened to her plea and Hermaphroditus and Salmacis become one body, with both male and female attributes. That day Hermaphroditus turned into Hermaphrodite.
The piccie shows the moment when Salmacis (literally) merges with her beloved one.

I mostly take Valentines day as a reminder to spice up the lovelife a bit extra than more of a "I gotta buy her everything!" day.
I really like the left side of the picture, very peaceful. The right one just screams surprise-buttsechs though.
I love the expressions in the other drawing. Nice interpretation of the myth
and the myth of Hermaphodite is one of my favorites. i used to be HUGE into mythology. i kinda faded out though.
